More model informationThis trench was one of three excavated around Old Saint Oswald’s church in Fulford, York. It was dug to find evidence of the Well House recordswhich formerly occupied land to the south-west of the church. After working through several layers of heavily compacted 20th century landscaping and the backfill of a robber trench (which was likely used to remove bricks from the context below) a wall was discovered which may have related to Well House itself. Medieval pottery was also recovered alongside numerous finds of 19th and 20th century date.
