Aerograph Co. Compressor | WW23D ModelNoAI
An Aerograph Co. Ltd. branded air compressor, used to power an airbrush for spraypainting. Unsure if this one was specifically used for painting RAF aircraft or other military property, but according to Grace’s Guide the company marketed to the industry in 1939: ‘…[the] spray gun is particularly suitable for the high-speed application of aeroplane dopes, synthetics and lacquers and is widely used in the finishing shops of aircraft factories… The Aerograph Co. Ltd. have also produced a range of portable plants for one, two or three operators, suitable for the maintenance painting of buildings on aerodromes… spraying equipment specially designed for spraying camouflage materials is also available.’
Now at the Eden Camp Museum near Malton, North Yorkshire. Appears to have been repainted in recent years but beginning to suffer from age. 126 images processed in Metashape and Meshlab.
