Cross in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels church, Addingham, near Glassonby, Cumbria, England.
The upper part of a shaft and the head of a cross that is thought to date from the late 10th to early 11th century. The cross is carved in an Anglo-Scandinavian style more commonly associated with the coastal areas of Cumbria. The cross is thought to have come from the site of an earlier church nearby which was washed away when the River Eden changed course in the 14th century. Other stones at the church have been recovered from the river when water levels are low, it is likely this one was too.
