More model informationThe Uzgen minaret of the middle of the 11th century has developed members typical of Central Asian minarets: stylobate, octagonal plinth and conical body, solidly ornamented with figurative brickwork. Ornamental motifs of wide belts are separated from each other by narrow ornamental strips, which creates a peculiar artistic rhythm. The upper part of the minaret about 1/3 of the body of the monument is destroyed, apparently as a result of an earthquake. Over the surviving part in 1923 was put a lantern, characteristic of the Fergana school of the late XIX century. Restored in 1983.
