More model informationThis is a perfusion fixed whole human heart that was donated for research. The donor was a 63 year old female with a cause of death by cerebrovascular/stroke. They reported smoking 5 cigarettes a day for 40 years and had a patent foramen ovale (PFO) with a catheter through it.
We partner with LifeSource to receive donated organs deemed not viable for transplant and the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program to work with organs that were donated for Medical Education and Research.
